Asheville, NC Hurricane Helene Relief Efforts
Oct 19th, 2024 Update
I made my third trip to Asheville last Friday, October 19th, and spent several hours with Pastor Sexton and one of the associate pastors, Dwight Parrish, who gave us a rundown of the current situation in the City. During this time, we delivered the 200 sleeping bags and received confirmation that they reached Fairview and Riceville Volunteer Fire departments by Saturday and are ready for disbursement into the community.
We do have additional funds remaining and anticipate speaking with Heart with Hands leadership over the next day or so to see if they would like additional sleeping bags or something else.
I’ll keep everyone posted as the information comes in and will ensure that financial gifts that have come in will make it into the hands of those that need it.
I will say from my own firsthand experience that Pastor Sexton’s Church under his leadership really stepped up to the plate. It was impressive to watch the church fulfill its role in the community during a time of need.
Thank you everyone for your concern and financial support. It made a difference.
My Best,
Frank
